Construction is completed at Napoleon Biogas.
This biogas facility, located directly across the street from a Campbell’s soup plant in Harrison Township, OH, has capacity to digest 450 tons of mixed waste organic material a day, diverting it from local landfills. The digester receives waste from the Campbell’s plant as well as area food processors, waste recyclers and local dairy farms. Biogas from the digester fuels GE-Jenbacher genset with capacity to generate up to 2.8 mWh of renewable electricity. Replacing traditional energy use at the Campbell’s plant with this renewable energy will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent of 16,000 metric tons of CO2 each year, as well as reducing waste odors.
This facility is located on approximately 7 acres in Napoleon, OH, in the northwest corner of the State. Once again, this system was specifically designed for mixed waste - taking in local organic residuals and converting to green, renewable energy.
